Bodhi has been around for about 20 years now, starting in China Town I believe. It's now nestled between St Mary's Cathedral forecourt (just down the stairs) and the Phillip Park swimming pool.

We had lots of tasty food in Scotland. There is much comfort food to be found, which can be very hearty, and sometimes a little stodgy, but it's untrue that all Scottish food is stodgy (which I can be a little partial to:), there's also many dishes with a lighter touch, seafood and salads and twists on old favourites where you still have the heavy ( Read more... )

Another birthday meal :D This one was the family one and we combined it with Mother's Day - second Sunday in May in Australia. We did our family thing and went to Chan's, previous entries  here and here. We had some old favourites plus a few other treats...

Last week for Chinese New Year, friends invited me to a banquet at Emporer's Garden Seafood Restaurant, which is a the south entrance to the main part of China Town. For $60 per person, there was much food including a rather large amount of seafood, plus a few bottles of wine on each table, so that was a very lovely extra. Everything was super ( Read more... )

Adriano Zumbo at Balmain which I haven’t blogged about yet is my favourite cafe right now (in fact, could be the best I’ve ever been to for sweet things and desserts), but for a closer sweet hit, a branch of The Cupcake Bakery opened at Queen Victoria Building this week. Last Friday night we went to A La Facon de Shimizu to celebrate beverly's birthday. It’s Japanese French fusion which I hadn’t tried before and was very keen to do so. There were so many things I wanted to eat from the menu…just about everything really!
